Kokonbini - Cocoa's Convenience Store!

Weekly Update (December 14th 2023) - This fall guys clone has a really good fighting minigame!

So not much happened this week. Finally got around to filling out my neet paperwork. Hopefully I'm not on welfare for too long this time. Oh, and I've decided to set up a 'timebomb' for myself. I cant exactly just stay closeted for some and be out for others so I need to get on top of that. If I dont come out before my birthday everyone I'm not out to is getting an automated email (or text for some). Strictly for people I still talk to. Gonna try get on DIYHRT around then too.

GRANBLUE FANTASY VERSUS RISING IS GOTY MATERIAL HONEST TO GOD. I suck at it but its SOOO GOOOOOOD. Grand Bruise is legit gonna be my thing for the next couple of weeks, no contest. Arcsys got the formula down to a fine art and delivered, dare I say, a better experience than what fall guys offers. But I could ramble about that for hours so instead I wanna talk about the fighting mechanics. This game does not feel like a fighting game and that is to its benefit. I can be played like one of course, but the control layout has a lot more in common with a brawler RPG than it does a fighting game. A lot of its mechanics, notably the directional arts, remind me a fair bit of the early Tales Of games. Honestly I f*ck with this game REALLY HARD. I'm stuck with the free version rn but I'm definitely gonna pay for deluxe edition when I get my last KFC paycheck. Really solid outing that has me wishing the Steam Deck had a better DPad. Oh, and the game runs like a dream on Deck with High-Highest settings at 1080p so if you have one, its a must buy.

Honestly I've been playing a lot of fighting games again lately. Mostly because I've started talking to some amazing people in the community lately and I feel like I owe a lot to these people. It really helped get me crawl out of my shell a bit just talking to them and I'm starting to feel like myself again. It's legitimately done more wonders for me than therapy ever did. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
